UNITING THE POWER OF WOMEN TO DIMINISH GENDER GAP PROBLEMS THROUGH SILATDA IMMAWATI

Pendopo of Purworejo Regency was full of Women of Muhammadiyah Students Association or IMMawati from all regions in Central Java, Friday, 11 May 2018.

Many IMMawati from all branches of IMM in Central Java attended this event. The event is known as Silatda or Silaturahmi Daerah. This event was held for four days, from 10 May to 13 May 2018. The purpose of this event is to strengthen the bound among IMMawatis in Central Java region. Anggra, one of the committees, said that this event attended by about 54 IMMawati from all regions in Central Java.

“This event is attended by 54 IMMawati from all regions in Central Java. Every branch of IMM in Central Java delegate three people to attend this event,” said Anggra.

The theme picked this year is “Revitalisasi Peran IMMawati Jawa Tengah dalam Mewujudkan Gerakan Pencerahan”.

“There are many problems of gender gap in society. And, in IMM, there is a special field for this, the name is IMMawati Subdivision. There are 19 branches of IMM in Central Java region and every branch has its own IMMawati subdivision. The reason why we pick this theme this year is so that we can diminish the gender gap and social gap problems in society,” said Anggra.

There were some agendas in this event. The event began with the registration of the participants. While waiting for the opening ceremony, the participants were entertained by a group band from IMM Purworejo. About at 9, the opening ceremony was started. The first agenda was recitation of Al-Quran by IMMawati Lutfah and was continued with singing Indonesia Raya, Mars Muhammadiyah, and Mars IMM. The next agenda was poetry reading by Sekar Septiana Sari, a student of extraordinary school in Purworejo and the winner of Poetry Reading Contest in Central Java. Then, there was welcoming speech by IMMawan Fayd Kadarudin, the Leader of IMM Purworejo. After that, there was a welcoming speech by the DPD Leader of IMM of Central Java, IMMawan Abdul Wahid. Next, there was a speech delivered by Drs. Pudjiono, the representative of PDM Muhammadiyah of Purworejo. Next agenda was speech delivery by the representative of PWM of Central Java, Dandung Danadi. Then, continued with a speech by the Tasks Executor of Central Java, Drs. H. Heru Sudjatmoko, M.Si.
 
Nationalism dialogue by Denty Eka Widi Pratiwi, S.E., M.H

The event continued with a nationalism dialog by Denty Eka Widi Pratiwi, S.E., M.H. She is a DPD RI representative from Purworejo region. She brought a dialogue with the theme “Wawasan Kebhinekaan sebagai Paradigma Gerakan Perempuan: Upaya Perempuan dalam Mengentaskan Permasalahan Sosial”. She talked about what kind of job she done in parliamentary. She also talked about how the women in parliamentary always brought up the problems of every women in every meeting, so there would not be any gap between the men and women. The dialogue ended with a discussion session with some questions from participants.

“With this event, we hope that in every region, there is representative so that we can unite and have a great bound, therefore we can create a synergic IMMawati movement,” said Anggra.
